For when you need coffee with your coffee
affogato is a traditional Italian dessert of coffee poured over ice cream. It’s inviting, easy on the tastebuds, and a classic.

they say don’t mess with classics but I’ve been running on empty lately so I wanted to give it an extra dose of coffee by making coffee ice cream as the base and pouring deliciously brewed hot coffee on top. I have to say, it’s a treat. My super picky toddlers stole it from me and asked for more.
I used my healthy high protein ice cream as the base and swapped out the milk part for brewed coffee. It worked beautifully.
affogato with coffee ice cream
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 cup Greek yogurt
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1/2 cup brewed coffee
2 scoops unflavored collagen (this helps with the ice cream texture!)
1 tsp vanilla
make it
add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
Transfer blended base into your ninja or a Pyrex and freeze for 24 hours. (If you’re using a Pyrex, then take out after 4 hours and mix it with a spoon before putting it back in the freezer.
On your ninja creami, use the ice cream setting. And then do one re-spin to get the perfect consistency.
Scoop out ice cream into a cute mug, and pour coffee on top. Enjoy the most classy treat ever. ♥️☕️
