Description

Easy, simple chocolate mousse with no added sugar (except what’s in the chocolate you use), takes 5 minutes to prep and always tastes fancy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2/3 cup dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Melt dark chocolate in the microwave or over a double broiler. Set aside to cool a little.
  2.  In a large bowl, add heavy cream. Using a beater, whip to stiff peaks. This takes about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, add egg whites. Be careful not to add and yolks, if a little gets in, get it out with a spoon. The egg yolk will prevent your egg whites from whipping up fluffy, so make sure to watch for that!
  4. Now beat your egg whites to stiff peaks.
  5. Pour the melted/cooled dark chocolate into the egg whites and carefully fold in to incorporate.
  6. Add whipped cream to the egg whites, and fold again. Be gentle, you don’t want to roughly mix it, just easy folds until it’s all mixed in.
  7. Spoon it into your serving glasses and place in the fridge to set for at least an hour. Two is better 🙂
  8. Enjoy!
